Spartans travel to Denmark on 96.7 WBDK

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans will look to bounce back Friday night as they travel to Denmark to take on the Vikings in North Eastern Conference football action.

Falling to Freedom 26-14 last week in a homecoming game, Luxemburg-Casco (2-2, 4-2 overall) will have to control the Vikings’ running attack.  Denmark (2-2, 3-3) has twin threats in Nolan Perry with 517 rushing yards and five touchdowns and Rheis Johnson with 331 yards and seven TDs.

The Spartans will have to find a way to replace injured quarterback Max Ronsman, who is L-C’s leading rusher with 662 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with his seven passing TDs.  Junior Landon Derene and freshman Brayden Loritz played after Ronsman went down early in the second quarter against Freedom.

With both teams sporting a 2-2 record in the NEC, Friday’s game will be a big step towards the winner becoming playoff-eligible for the WIAA tournament.

The game will be broadcast on 96.7 WBDK and New Radio Sports Network with Paul Schmitt, and Reece Robillard on the call starting at 6:45 pm and kick off at 7 pm.
