Spartans throttle the Flivvers on WBDK

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans kept their perfect record intact with an impressive 35-6 win over the Kingsford Flivvers Friday night in North Eastern Conference football.  It did not take the Spartans long to get on the board as Sam Peterson intercepted a pass and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown just over a minute into the game.

After another Kingsford turnover, Owen Deprez hit Logan Doell for an 18-yard strike with 1:45 left in the first quarter to give the Spartans a 14-0 lead.

Kingsford scored on a five-yard run by Diego Przeslakowski to close the score to 14-6 after the missed extra point, but that was as close as the Flivvers would get the rest of the way.

Deprez added a seven-yard run with 5:47 left in the half to give the Spartans a 21-7 that they took into halftime.

Isaac Vandenbush had another big night rushing night as he capped off the scoring with two short runs in the third quarter of one and two yards, respectively.  He now has 42 career touchdowns, improving the school record he broke last week.

Luxemburg-Casco (5-0, 7-0 overall) will travel now to Freedom next Friday night in an NEC showdown.

Matt Piesler and Paul Schmitt will have the call starting at 6:30 p.m. with the pregame show and kick-off set for 7 pm on 96.7FM WBDK.  The game audio can also be streamed on the NewRadioSportsRadioNetwork.com.
