Spartan athletes earn Northeastern Conference recognition

As the sports teams on the peninsula wrap up spring sports seasons with state track this week, the Northeastern Conference released All-Conference honors. Luxemburg-Casco will be focused on State Track this week, but other sports are now able to reflect and be given recognition for their spring efforts. Award winners by sport for the Spartans include:

 

Girls golf

 

2nd Team All-Conference: Lydia VandenHouten 

 

Boys golf

 

1st Team All-Conference: Zach Smith

Honorable Mention: Caden Lukes

 

Track and Field

 

John Larson was second team All Northeastern in the 300 Meter hurdles and John Larson was honorable mention in the 100 Meter hurdles. Taylor Thiry was second-team All Conference in the shot put. Megan Vandermause was honorable mention in the 3200 Meter relay. Several athletes were honorable mention for their participation in the 4 x 200, 4 x 400, and 4 x 800 meter relays. Those include Emily Ropson, Alexandria Wech, Gabrielle Wech, Samantha Kahr, Micaela Boucher, Grace Holschuh, Madelyn Smith, Hannah Derrene, Madilyn Bevins, Elizabeth Rank, Megan Vandermause, and  Grace Seering. 

 

Girls soccer: 

 

Heather Iverson and Tabi Lemens were first team, while Jillian Lynts received second-team honors. Tara Dhuey was honorable mention. 

 

Boys soccer:

 

Griffin Saldana, Rigoberto  Caseres, and the goalkeeper Garret Zuleger got on the first team. Nathan Johnson and Hayden Koss were second-team. 

 

Softball:

 

Rebecca Kroll was a first team pitcher and McKenzie Hanson was a first team outfielder. Getting second team honors was Brianna Gaedtke, Lauren Adams, Kylie Hanson, and Emily Jandrin. Taking home honorable mention was Payton Kaminski 

 

Baseball:

 

Owen Deprez and Blake Robillard were first-team all conference and Max Ronsman was a second-team all-conference selection.
