Luxemburg-Casco held up the end of their Wednesday bargain at both the plate and in the field. The Spartans downed Shawano 8-0 to advance to the sectional semi-finals. Rebecca Kroll kept Shawano quiet offensively, giving up just three hits in her complete game.
After a scoreless first inning, the Spartans pushed across six runs. Big hits in the inning were provided by Emily Jandrin who had a two-RBI double which scored Kylie Hanson and Sierra Jonet, Lauren Adams, two-RBI single, and Brianna Gaedtke with a two-RBI double. L-C scored one in on Kenzie Hanson's RBI single which scored Grace Kahr and one in the sixth on Kylie Hanson's home run.
Leading hitters for Luxemburg-Casco were Lauren Adams, 3 for 3, double, two RBI. Kylie Hanson, 2 for 4, two runs scored, home run. Emily Jandrin, double, two RBI.
Lizzy Kary, Brianna Wright, and Hatty Fritz each had a hit for Shawano.
The Spartans will face Marinette in a Division 2 sectional semi-final on Monday. They have beat Marinette twice this season, by scores of 5-2 and 2-1. The Spartans now have a 20-3 overall record.
