The Luxemburg-Casco Spartan girls' basketball team won big over the Marinette Marines Tuesday night for a conference matchup, 59-15. The Spartans found success early on and kept their foot on the gas ending the first half ahead 17 points, 27-10. Second half play consisted of lockdown defense by LC that only gave up five points. Taylor Thiry led the way for the Spartans with 16 points while Maggie Hanmann and Alex Wech each scored 10 points. Spartans second-year head coach Taylor Schmidt’s team improved to 1-1 placing them second in the North Eastern Conference standings. The Spartans will look to keep it rolling when they play Denmark on Thursday at home.
