Lady Spartans sweep Two Rivers for Regional Championship on WBDK

The Luxemburg Casco volleyball team rolled in all three sets Saturday night against Two Rivers to claim the Division II Regional Championship in Luxemburg.  The undefeated Spartans were never seriously challenged by the undefeated Raiders as they won 25-15, 25-12, and 25-15.

Jumping to an early 10-4 lead in the first game, the Spartans capitalized on several Raider miscues including several service errors to cruise to a ten-point margin.  Two Rivers (8-1) did take the lead 7-6 in game two but the Spartans went on a run to more than double up the Raiders with the 25-12.  The third set saw the Spartans jump on the Raiders quickly and allow some underclassmen to get playing time and close out the match.

Luxemburg-Casco was led by Emma Johnson who had 22 assists and five kills.  Grace Holschuh added seven kills while Kenzie Hanson provided six kills and 8 digs.  Jillian Lynts garnered the “Prime Time Player of the Game” with 8 digs and 2 aces.

Luxemburg-Casco (11-0) will now have to wait for the reseeding by the WIAA on Sunday to determine foe and location for sectional play next Thursday evening.   Tyler Thrune and Tim Kowols will have the broadcast on 96.7 FM WBDK and streamed on the @NewRadioSportsNetwork.  Pregame will be at 6:30 pm with first serve at 7 pm.
