Thiry clinches state cross country berth

A little mud did not slow Spencer Thiry on his way to representing Luxemburg-Casco in next week's Division 2 cross country meet.

 

Thiry's 17:46 on the  5K course hosted by Kettle Moraine Lutheran was good for sixth place out of 38 participating runners to punch his ticket to Colby High School next week. The team scored 83 points, 57 points behind first place Valders. Lance Cherovsky, Gabe Havel, and Michael Otradovec all broke 20 minutes for the Spartans.

The Spartans girls also finished in fourth place, scoring 23 more points than first-place Kewaskum. Four Spartans broke the tape on the 5K course in less than 23 minutes, led by 10th  place finisher Ella Wessel.
