The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans routed the Seymour Thunder 34-7 Friday Night in a non-conference game at the Luxemburg-Casco Sports Complex. The Spartans used a relentless rushing attack that Seymour could not stop all night long.
Junior running back Evan Dorner, filling in for Isaac VandenBush, had a huge game scoring three touchdowns in the first half alone as the Spartans dominated the line of scrimmage. Dorner scored on two four-yard runs in the first quarter before adding a three-yard run late in the second quarter as L-C took a commanding 21-0 lead into halftime.
Quarterback Owen Deprez hooked up with wide receiver Ryan Routhieaux with 4:30 left in the third quarter to give the Spartans a 28-0 lead. Deprez added a 9-yard touchdown scamper with 5:33 left in the fourth quarter to finish out the Spartans’ scoring.
The lone Thunder score came with 4:21 left in the game on quarterback Peyton VanDeHei’s one-yard sneak.
Luxemburg-Casco (0-1, 3-1 overall) will now play host to the Little Chute Mustangs in a “Battle of the L-Cs” next Friday night in a North Eastern Conference matchup. Matt Piesler and Paul Schmitt will have the broadcast on 96.7 FM WBDK and streamed on the NewRadioSportsNetwork. Pregame is set for 6:30 pm with kickoff at 7 pm.
