Luxemburg-Casco High School

DKHS.com's Champion of Champions Series: 2000s Luxemburg-Casco Wrestling

A Luxemburg-Casco alum took the torch during the 2000s and made sure the wrestling team did not skip a beat.

During the 2000s, head coach and former state champion wrestler Bob Berceau led five teams to state championships, including three straight from 2001 to 2003.

In 2001, the Spartans met Ellsworth in the state final again, topping them 30-19. The following year it was Lodi that fell to the Spartans in the state final by a 34-18 margin. The run ended in 2003 when they edged Lodi in a rematch 29-25. Left out of the state finals in 2004, the Spartans returned to the top of the Division 2 wrestling world in 2005, pounding Lomira 64-6. The Spartans last title of the decade was in 2006 when they beat Lodi 39-32. They would make the state final the following year, but the Spartans fell to Ellsworth 33-22.
