The Luxemburg-Casco won a pair of low-scoring games at the UW Fieldhouse in the winter of 1994 to capture their second state championship.
In its state semifinal game, the Spartans outscored Durand 17-2 in the opening frame and neither team would crack double digits again in a 34-21 victory. Mary Destiche was the only member on the team to crack double digits, scoring 14 points. Things opened up a little more in the state final game with the Spartans beating Monona Grove in a nail-biting 46-44 contest. After going down 15-9 in the first quarter, the Spartans got it even by the beginning of the fourth quarter, outscoring their opponents 11-9 in the final frame to capture the program's second-ever state tournament title. Kelly Warnke led the team with 18 points and Destriche pitched in 11.
It was the first of two straight tournament runs for the Spartans, which lost to Holmen the following year.
