The first of three Luxemburg-Casco girls' basketball state titles is coming up on its 35th anniversary in a few years.

In 1988, the Spartans had convincing wins over Monona Grove (63-45) and Horicon (71-60) to capture the state title. Ann Seidl scored 42 points over the two-game span to be one of the most prolific scorers in state tournament history. Much of that work came from the free throw-line as she hit 12 free throws in the title game to clinch the victory over Horicon and 18 shots overall. With 1.000 shooting percentage, she is tied as the best free-throw shooter in state tournament history.
