The Kewaunee football team had the ball with time to spare to either tie or win the game, but a late interception ended the season with a 17-14 loss to Cedar Grove-Belgium on U-102.1
The Storm and Rockets played to a scoreless first quarter despite Diesel Bosdeck throwing an interception on the opening drive. After the two teams traded punts, Bosdeck got the Storm on the board first with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Brody Elliott to make it 7-0. The Rockets scored their first points on the ensuing drive with Austin Knapp cracking the goal line from one yard out to tie the game at seven. The Storm came up empty on their final two drives while the Rockets' Noah Peterson boomed a 43-yard kick through the uprights to make it 10-7 at the break.
The two teams traded six consecutive punts to start the second half, but the Rockets were able to partially block on the final one, setting up a 13-yard score by Alex Geib to put them up 17-7 with under five minutes to play. The Storm did not go quietly into night, thanks in part to long pass play from Bosdeck to Dane Harrell, to give Blake Temme the opportunity to score from inside the five-yard line to give the Storm hope at 17-14
The Storm forced the Rockets to punt and had the ball with under two minutes to go before Bosdeck threw his second interception of the game to end the game and the season.
The Storm finished the season 8-3 and now say good-bye to seniors Peyton Schaller, Tucker Du Fresne, Blake Temme, Garrett LeFevre, Blake Bortolini, Gregorio Medina, and Benjamin VanGoethem .
