Kewaunee continued its dominant stretch Friday night, rolling past Loyal/Greenwood 40-7 in the opening round of the WIAA football playoffs to extend its winning streak to six games.
The Storm entered the postseason with momentum and showed no signs of slowing down, continuing their recent trend of scoring 40 or more points while holding opponents to fewer than 14.
Loyal/Greenwood entered the matchup riding a winning streak of its own, but Kewaunee put an end to the Greyhounds’ run and their season with a convincing 33-point victory.
The win sends the No. 2-seeded Storm into the next round of the playoffs, where they will face No. 3-seeded Cedar Grove-Belgium.
Kewaunee will look to keep its winning streak alive when the two teams meet Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m., with a spot in the next round of the WIAA tournament on the line.
