Thursday's Jim Bremser Invitational in Mishicot will have a decidedly local flare with Algoma, Gibraltar, Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco, Sevastopol, Southern Door, and Sturgeon Bay all toeing the line.
Nearly 40 schools will participate on race day with the first gun going off at 3:30 p.m.

The Algoma cross country tackled the darkened hills of the Winagamie Golf Course on Friday as part of the Nightfall Classic 920 in Neenah. Brayden was a lone wolf for the boys, running a time of 22:07. Ellie Reif ran a time of 22:17 to pace the girls' team with a 29th-place finish.
The Gibraltar Vikings had a good showing at Sheboygan Area Lutheran's Crusader Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday. On the girls' side, Olivia Pelkey cracked the top 100 with a time of 26:37 while Graham De Voe snuck under 19 minutes with a time of 18:59 to take 27th.
The Kewaunee cross country teams had a strong showing at Tuesday's Crusader Invitational in Sheboygan. The girls' team placed two in the top 25 with Rachel Miller running a time of 22:07 and Kaylyn Martin following close behind with a time of 22:29. For the boys, Gage Vlies cracked 21 minutes with a time of 20:54 to finish in 69th.
The Luxemburg-Casco cross country teams left Valders with plenty of extra hardware after the boys team won the Bob Burzynski 36th Annual XC Invite and had eight top 10 finishes. The boys dominated the leaderboard with Ezra Treml leading the way with a first-place time of 16:35. Zach Tassoul (2nd), Bryce Piesler (5th), Marcis Doell (7th), Bryce Mleziva (9th), and Evan Vandermause (10th) all broke 19 minutes to take the team title with 24 points. The girls took second place, 16 points behind first-place Brillion. Claire DuChateau won the race with a time of 19:38. Adeline Treml took fourth with a time of 21:42.
The Sevastopol Pioneers cross country teams tackled the course at Sheboygan Lutheran on Tuesday as part of the Crusader Invitational. Sophomore Breiah Newton collected another top 10 finish, running a time of 21:31 to come in 7th place for the Pioneers girls. On the boys' side, Landon Sitte finished with a time of 20:31 to come in 61st overall.
The Sturgeon Bay cross country team competed in the Bob Burzynski Cross Country Invitational at Valders High School on Thursday night. Competing with 7 other schools, the Clippers were tasked with racing up Valders Hill, known as Big Bertha, and around the various turns and straightaways that make up the Valders course. Delaney Skiba earned a medal with a 15th-place varsity time of 22:47, and Norbert Cross earned a 17th-place JV time of 26:14. Elliott Brown led the varsity boys team with a time of 20:49 to post a top 25 finish.
Familiar names topped the leaderboard on Tuesday for the Southern Door Eagles cross country teams at the Crusader Invitational in Sheboygan. In the girls' race, Malania Veeser once again posted a top-5 performance with a time of 20:24. Four of her other teammates also broke 24 minutes to finish in the top 50. On the guys' side, Colton Valley paced the Eagles with a time of 20:14 to finish 54th.
