Kewaunee's Maccaux finishes in fifth at state golf championships

The high school golf career of Kewaunee's Evan Maccaux came to a close on Tuesday with a Top 5 finish in the WIAA State Golf Tournament at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison.

 

After shooting a 5-over 77 on Monday, Maccaux followed up with a 6-over 78 on Tuesday to stay in fifth place, tying Crandon's Reid Votis and Turtle Lake/Clayton's Andrew Buck. Maccaux was one of seven D3 golfers to shoot sub-80 in both rounds of the state championships. 

 

Kohler's David Van Dixhorn shot a 2-under 70 on Tuesday to clinch the Division 3 title, holding off Prentice' Eliah Harding.
