A little rain never hurt anybody, and it definitely did not hurt Kewaunee's Evan Maccaux during the first round of the WIAA State Golf Championship at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison on Monday.
Stormy weather forced play to be suspended for nearly an hour, with golfers unable to restart their round until 6:10 p.m.
Maccaux finds himself in fifth place among Division 3 competitors after shooting 5-over-par on day one. He is four strokes behind the leaders Eliah Harding and Matti Heikkinen, who shot a 1-over-par on Monday.
Maccaux starts day two at 7:20 a.m.
