Storm blows past Crivitz for regional championship on 104.1 WRLU

Behind Brett Paulsen's no-hitter and timely hitting, the Kewaunee Storm stayed undefeated by shutting out the Crivitz Wolverines 10-0 in five innings Wednesday afternoon.  The Storm will now play in a sectional semifinal next Tuesday in Crivitz against Brillion.

After a scoreless first inning, the Storm scored two runs in the second and third innings to take a 4-0 lead.  Micah Vanness knocked in two runs with a double in the third inning to get Kewaunee going.

Connor Kilgore had a big game going three-for-three with a triple while Vanness finished two-for-three.

Brett Paulsen was the story again getting a no-hitter while striking out nine batters and allowing only three baserunners with walks.

The Storm scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to claim their back-to-back regional championship.  Conner Kilgore ended the game with a bases-loaded walk for the final tally.

#1 Kewaunee (27-0) will now face the #2 Brillion Lions next Tuesday at 1 p.m. with a chance to play in the sectional final at 4 p.m. if they get by the Lions.  The sectional semi-final broadcast will begin at 12:45 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on NewRadioSportsNetwork.com with Paul Schmitt calling the action.
