Kewaunee senior Evan MacCaux had a standout day at the WIAA Division 3 Boys Golf Sectional, shooting a 73 to earn individual gold medalist honors and punch his ticket to state as an individual qualifier.
MacCaux was the low round of the day and the only local golfer to advance to the State Tournament. Three Lakes/Phelps (335) and Mishicot (342) took the top two team spots to advance to state as well.
Gibraltar finished with a 377 team scor led by Henry Wehrenberg with a 94, followed by Bairen Lhost (94) and Jameson Tepe (99). Sam Busalacchi rounded out the team with a 90. The Vikings would not advance as a team or individually.
MacCaux is the lone local area golfer headed to state and he will compete at the WIAA Division 3 State Tournament June 8-9 at University Ridge in Madison.
