Kewaunee baseball begins tournament run against familiar foe

The march back to Fox Cities Stadium begins with a Packerland Conference opponent when Kewaunee welcomes Peshtigo on Tuesday.

 

The Storm last played on Thursday when they beat Manitowoc 3-1 to clinch a perfect regular season. The Storm outhit the Ships 9-3 with Waylon Delain going 3-4 while Brett Paulsen and Diesel Bosdeck each had two hits. Paulsen earned the win, allowing one run (1 ER) on two hits while striking out four across three innings.

 

The Storm will face a familiar foe in their tournament opener on Tuesday when Peshtigo comes barking in Kewaunee. The Bulldogs were swept in a doubleheader by the Storm on May 9th, dropping game one 12-0 before just missing a split with a 5-4 defeat. They enter the matchup on a four-game winning streak. They earned the matchup with a 5-2 win over Sevastopol last Thursday. Lincoln Nemec led the Bulldogs with three hits, including a double, while Bryce Heroux pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to go along with his triple.

 

First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
