Storm softball opens tournament play at Brillion

A new season for the Kewaunee softball team begins on Tuesday with a WIAA Regional Semifinal matchup against Brillion.

The Storm had a tough one last Tuesday, falling to Crivitz 6-5 on a walk-off single in the eighth inning. The Storm tied it up twice, most recently in the seventh when Breanna Riha grounded out to score the tying run, but Crivitz answered in the eighth with Taryn Tracy's walk-off single to end it. Riha and Kambriea Last were the offensive engines for Kewaunee, each driving in two runs. Last and London Karnopp each collected two hits on the day.

The Lions are 19-5 on the year and have won three straight, including a 5-4 victory over Luxemburg-Casco their last time out.

First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
