Kewaunee softball faces Wrightstown to open week

The Kewaunee softball team will dip their toes back into non-conference play on Monday when they welcome Wrightstown. 

 

The Storm claimed the first game 3-2 behind timely hitting and strong pitching from Ali Repitz and Breanna Riha. Repitz earned the win after allowing two runs on five hits over four innings while striking out five. Riha tossed three scoreless innings in relief to secure the victory. Kewaunee collected 10 hits in the opener, led by Riha and Vivian Bootz with two apiece. Schleis, Last and Repitz each drove in runs, while the Storm played error-free defense. Peshtigo responded with a 9-3 win in the nightcap behind a 15-hit performance. Repitz and Vivian Bootz each drove in runs for Kewaunee. The Storm finished with six hits. 

 

The Tigers enter the matchup with a 13-7 record, including a 3-3 record in their last six games. They snapped a two-game losing skid with a 19-1 win over Sturgeon Bay after being shutout 7-0 by Southern Door.

 

First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
