The Kewaunee golf team and the rest of the Packerland Conference took on two courses this past Monday, where the Storm came out on top both times.
They first competed at Little River Country Club, which saw the Storm coming in first with a score of 184, three strokes better than second-place Gibraltar with a 187, followed by Southern Door with a 189. Carding the best scores at this course were Evan MacCaux (Kewaunee) and Nolan Viestenz (Oconto). Nick Mans (Peshtigo) shot a 43, Lance Veeser (Southern Door) shot a 44, Lauren Ahrdt (Peshtigo) and Bairen Lhost (Gibraltar) each shot a 45.
The second round was played at Vernon Hills, where the Storm again came out victorious, shooting a 179. Southern Door and Gibraltar tied for second with scores of 182. MacCaux led the way with a 36, not a stroke over par. Veeser trailed with a 42, and Ahrdt and Lhost each shot a 43.
The Packerland will be meeting this Thursday again at Southern Door’s home course, Idlewild Golf Club.
