"War on the Shore" takes to the diamond on 104.1 WRLU

The "War on the Shore" is set to add another chapter, this time on the baseball diamond, in a Packerland Conference doubleheader, with game two to be heard on 104.1 WRLU.

Kewaunee has turned heads all spring behind the arm of Brett Paulsen, who has already tossed a trio of no hitters this spring.  Make no mistake about it though, the Storm offense has been plenty powerful to go with the pitching efforts.  The Storm won their lone games from last week with a doubleheader sweep of Sevastopol 8-0 and 10-0.

Across the chalk lines will be the Algoma Wolves, with a 2-6 record, having dropped its last three games. That includes a pair of losses to Mineral Point on Saturday by scores of 10-2 and 11-5. In game one, the Wolves led 2-0 heading into the seventh inning before allowing all 10 of Mineral Point's runs as they were plagued by three walks, two errors, and seven hits. Cal DeMeuse, Cayden Neuzil, and Jack Schwader collected hits in the loss wile DeMeuse and Braeden Leist drove in the runs. In game two, it was a six-run inning that did the Wolves in. The two teams combined for 10 errors, leading to only four of the 16 runs scored to be earned.

The first pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. Eric Fischer will be on the call for game two of the doubleheader, scheduled for 5:45 pm.  Our pregame show is currently slated for 5:30 pm.

Other Packerland Conference games set for Tuesday include Sevastpol traveling to Oconto, Sturgeon Bay welcoming Southern Door, and Gibraltar/Washington Island visiting Peshtigo. All of the matchups are doubleheaders that begin at 4 p.m.
