Paulsen's seven inning no-hitter and 17 K's help Kewaunee shutout Sevastopol 8-0 on Thursday.
Kewaunee got on the board in the first inning after Dane Harrell doubled, scoring one run.
A double by Waylon Delain, and an error helped Kewaunee extend their early lead in the second.
Kewaunee added one run in the third. Calvin Kolmorgen grounded out, making the score 5-0.
Brett Paulsen earned the win for Kewaunee. The starter surrendered zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 17 and walking two. Bo Tanck took the loss for the Pioneers. The starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out five and walking three.
Kewaunee accumulated nine hits in the game. Waylon Delain, Brett Paulsen, Blake Temme, and Dane Harrell each collected two hits for Kewaunee. Waylon Delain went 2-for-5 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Kewaunee turned one double play in the game and were sure-handed in the field, not commit a single error. Calvin Kolmorgen had the most chances in the field with 17.
Kewaunee will now host Sevastopol for their next game on Thursday.
