The Kewaunee baseball picked up right where they left off last season, scoring 11 in both ends of their doubleheader against NEW Lutheran on Thursday.
In their 11-4 victory, it was 9-0 Storm before the Blazers were able to cut into the lead with three runs in the fifth inning. The Storm fought back with two runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a Blake Temme two-RBI single. The game's biggest blow came in the second inning when Dane Harrell clubbed a two-run homer. Harrell's day ended up going 2-4 with four RBI while Brett Paulsen helped his own cause with a 2-3, three RBI day. Paulsen earned the win on the mound, pitching three scoreless inning while striking out six.
The teams' second game was cut short due to darkness with the Storm leading 11-0 heading into the top of the fourth inning. Before the game's suspension, Paulsen had already posted two RBI on one hit while four others had also driven in runs.
