Storm softball extinguishes Blazers in doubleheader sweep

The Kewaunee softball team scored early and often in their doubleheader sweep of NEW Lutheran on Thursday.

 

In their 10-0 victory, the Storm put up crooked numbers in the first, third, and fourth innings to end the game in five innings. Breanna Riha went 3-3 with a double while Ali Repitz went 2-3 with two doubles and three RBI in the win. Seven different Storm players registered at least one RBI. Repitz controlled the game from the mound with five innings of shutout ball, allowing five hits while striking out nine and walking none.

 

In their 22-2 win, the Storm started the game with an eight-run first inning and ended it in the fourth with a 10-run frame. Kambreia Last and Braelyn Chevalier homered while Vivian Bootz clubbed a pair of doubles and London Karnopp also registered an extra base hit. Chevalier led the way with five RBI while Last drove in four and Bootz Riha drove in three apiece. Riha allowed two runs (2 ER) on one hit while striking out seven across four innings of work.
