Kewaunee's heralded senior class will get one more home game on Saturday after night after beating Valders 62-48 Friday night in the regional semifinals.
After the Vikings took an early lead in the opening minutes of the first half, the Storm took control of the game thanks to a 17-1 run.
The teams' top players, Kewaunee's Jade Kroll and Valders' Megan Hochkammer, went against each other all half long until Kroll suffered a minor injury with about five minutes left, allowing the Vikings to reel in the Storm and enter the locker room trailing their hosts 26-18.
Kroll returned in the second half, but it was Chevalier who helped the Storm keep a double-figure lead for much of the second half. Chevalier scored 16 of her team-high 21 points in the second half while Gabby Stangel and Kroll hit threes to stop the Vikings' runs in their tracks.
Kroll added 15 points, and Stangel chipped in 12 points to pace the Storm to victory, while Hochkammer led the Vikings with a team-high 25 points.
Seventh-seeded Oconto upset second-seeded Crivitz 59-46 to allow the Storm to host the regional final at the Storm Center Saturday at 7 p.m. The Storm knocked off the Blue Devils 56-46 on December 11th and 63-34 on January 30th. After being limited to 14 points in their first matchup, Kroll erupted for 32 points in the encore while the Storm's defense limited the Blue Devils to 40 percent shooting from the field, including 0/7 from behind the arc.
Tim Kowols will have the call on 96.7 WBDK beginning at 6:45 p.m., followed by the tip-off at 7 p.m. The winner will move on to face either Manitowoc Lutheran or Algoma in the sectional semifinal next Tuesday.
