Kewaunee Girls Tested by Valders

The Storm have been playing strong basketball as of late and their now 12-3 record speaks for itself, but Valders gave them a run for their money in a close matchup that went the distance. It's not something a lot of teams have been able to do against Kewaunee this year.

It was the second lowest point differential in a win for Kewaunee all season with a eight point win for the Storm, 56-48.

Kewaunee had to work for it, they got out to a 5-point lead early, but Valders stayed close and led at the break, 31-26.

The lead and control of the game was kept by the Vikings until a lay-in from the Storm tied the game at 44 with 5 minutes remaining. A turnover and 4-point swing went for Kewaunee and the game was solidified in their favor after that with Jade Kroll at the line to put the Storm ahead 5 going into the final minute.

Kewaunee will go head-to-head with Manitowoc Lutheran (13-3) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. which could be a pivotal game for both teams down the stretch.
