Kewaunee controls game pace on way to win over Algoma

After Algoma scored the games first bucket and a variety of lead changes in the first six minutes, Kewaunee took over and controlled the pace of the game for the final 30 minutes on their way to a controlling 54-41 victory.

The Storm built their biggest lead of the first half going into the break, 26-19, and would continue to lay it on offensively pulling ahead by 13 halfway through the final half.

Algoma didn't go down without a fight, bringing the game back within six with four minutes to go. Kewaunee did just enough defensively to maintain possessions late and then closed it out from the free throw line.

Kewaunee (10-2) moves to 6-0 in Packerland games as they prepare for a non-conference date with Shawano Community Thursday at 7 p.m. Algoma (7-6) hits a small bump in the road, but faces Sturgeon Bay Saturday at 2 p.m. for an opportunity to get back on track.
