Kewaunee spoils Madsen's milestone night in dual win over SBS

The Kewaunee wrestling team captured points in eight of the 14 weight classes Thursday night to escape with a 41-33 win over Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol.

A string of four victories in a row by Anakin Reimer, Mason VanGoethem, Trevor Gauthier, and Tucker Du Fresne proved to be the difference the Storm need to take the Packerland dual. Gauthier, Du Fresne, Mitchell Boeder, Samuel Kraynik, and Nolan Lambrecht picked up pins for the Storm while Julian Langer, Patrick Shefchik, and Ray Johnson, Jr. collected falls for SBS. SBS' Nate Hasenjager was the lone beneficiary of a forfeit.

In the final match of the night at 175 pounds, Spencer Madsen kept his perfect record intact with a 21-6 technical fall against Evan Romero. That was Madsen's 150th career win, further extending his school record for career wins.

Both teams will head to tournaments on Saturday with Kewaunee traveling to Valders and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol joining Southern Door in New London.
