The Kewaunee girls basketball team improved to 5-2 on the season with a 65-61 win over Menasha on Tuesday.
Despite being outrebounded by the Blue Jays 38-28, the Storm outshot their opponents 46 percent to 34 percent, including a 37 percent to 25 percent advantage from behind the arc. That strong shooting came handy about halfway through the second half as the Blue Jays closed a nearly double-digit deficit. Summer Walecka hit a three-pointer at the top of the key to spark a 12-3 run that would prove crucia in the end. The Blue Jays would make a charge late, but Ali Repitz secured a key steal late to preserve the victory.
The Storm are back in action on December 29th when they take on Wrightstown at the Kress Events Center on the campus of UW-Green Bay at 12:05 p.m.
