The Kewaunee football team is gearing up to host Marathon in their playoff opener this Friday.
The Red Raiders are coming off a 14-6 loss to Spencer/Columbus Catholic.True Thurs leads the Red Raiders offense with 1531 yards passing and 564 rushing while piling up 23 total touchdowns. Garrett Bracewell has been the benficiary of Thurs' arm, grabbing 55 balls for 804 yards and 11 of Thurs' 13 touchdown passes.
In contrast, the Storm boasts an 8-game winning streak, recently securing a 42-21 victory over Marinette. Key performers for the Spartans in their last game included Brett Pauslen, who had a dominant performance with 169 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 106 rushing yards, and 3 rushing touchdowns. Conor Kilgore contributed with 76 all-purpose yards and 2 touchdowns. Dane Harrel added 66 receiving yards and a touchdown. On defense, Dane Harrell led the team with 8 tackles and a fumble recovery. Mitchell Boeder also made an impact with 2 tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery, while Conor Kilgore secured an interception.
