Storm Rolls over Eagles on U-102.1

For the second week in a row, the Kewaunee Storm shut out their opponent. This week's victims were the Southern Door Eagles, defeated by the score of 42-0 in Kewaunee on Friday night.

Once again, the Storm offense would explode, setting the game into a running clock early in the first half. The first drive of the game would need just five plays, and less than two and a half minutes to put the first score on the board via a 25-yard Brett Paulsen to Connor Kilgore pass.  After forcing the Eagles offense into a three-and-out punt, the Storm would tack on another touchdown on a single-play drive when Kilgore found Alec Carlson for a 40-yard touchdown.

Brett Paulsen would also add a 4-yard rushing touchdown, and Connor Kilgore would return an interception for a 40-yard touchdown to set the score at 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter would be more of the same.   Paulsen threw two more touchdowns, one to Carlson and one to Diesel Bosdeck. Bosdeck would also have an interception in the 2nd quarter.

Neither the Storm nor the Eagles did much with the ball in the second half, choosing instead to use much of the play clock on nearly every play to wind down the running clock for the entire second half.  The only play of note in the second half was a final play of the game interception by Kilgore to put the exclamation point on the Storm's home field victory.

With victories in their next two games, Kewaunee will claim the title in the Packerland Conference.  Those games will take place next week, featuring a road matchup against Peshtigo and a Week 9 matchup back at home against Menominee.

Southern Door will return home next week to take on the Sturgeon Bay Clippers on Friday night. That game can be heard with Jacob Nate taking you through the action starting at 6:45 pregame, followed by the 7:00 kickoff.
