After losing their season opener, the Kewaunee Storm responded well with a 20-0 shutout victory over the Brillion Lions Friday night evening their record at 1-1.
The Storm defense held quarterback Joe Shimek in check, keeping the Lions out of the end zone, something they struggled with in the opening week. Shimek also happens to be one of the best defensive backs in the area and an all-conference selection playing both sides of the football.
Improvement on the defensive side of the football is a strong sign for Kewaunee as they head into a strong conference play season. They will go on the road for the third away game this time at Oconto, before their home opener against Bonduel September 12th.
