Storm Claim Sectional Championship on 104.1

The Storm earned a chance to play for the Sectional Championship by beating the Chilton Tigers 1-0 Tuesday afternoon. The only run of the game was scored by the leadoff batter, Ethan Paplham, who singled to open the game. He was moved to second by a Connor Kilgore single, advanced to third on a Brett Paulsen groundout, and scored on Brady Pribek's sec fly to deep left field. That lone run was enough to win thanks to the pitching combo of Brett Paulsen and Waylon Delain keeping the Tigers from scoring; even though two separate times in the game Chilton had 2 runners on with no outs, and came away with nothing.

In game 2, the Waylon Delain would get the start after earning the save in game one.  The Storm and the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers would exchange 3 up/3 down innings to open the game.  The Storm would send the Chargers down 3 up/3 down again in the second and score in the bottom of the second via a Waylon Delain double that scored Diesel Bosdeck.  The teams would exchange blows back and forth with the first deficit coming for the Storm entering the bottom half of the 5th inning.  The Storm did not find themselves behind for very long as they scored Brady Pribek would walk, and the courtesy runner came across to tie the game on a Delain RBI single.

The Storm would send the Chargers down once again 1-2-3 in the top of the 6th and Kewaunee took the lead in the bottom of the inning via back-to-back singles by Ethan Paplham and Connor Kilgore and a suicide squeeze by Brett Paulsen.  The 7th inning would have little drama as Jackson Walecka ended the game on back-to-back strikeouts giving the Storm the 5-6 victory, and sending Kewaunee to the first State appearance in program history.
