A seventh inning rally was cut one run short on Tuesday as Kewaunee softball's season ended with a 6-5 loss against New Holstein.
The Storm and the Huskies traded runs early before Kewaune came away with a one-run lead in the fourth inning. The Huskies broke through in the fifth inning with two runs and followed it up with one more in the sixth inning. The Storm got to within one run when Cora Schleis doubled in a run, leaving the tying and potentially winning run on base. Those two runners would be left stranded with Summer Walechka striking out to end the season.
The Storm outhit the Huskies 13-7 in the loss with Vivian Bootz posting three hits and Breanna Riha, Lexi Hanrahan, Mariah Schlies, and London Karnopp each posting two.
