Kewaunee baseball sweeps unique doubleheader

The Kewaunee baseball team took on two different teams and brought home similar results, beating Crivitz 9-0 before topping Sturgeon Bay 11-2.

 

In their victory over the Wolverines, the Storm scored five runs in the third inning and four in the sixth inning to spark the blowout. In the third inning, the Storm registered six singles, including RBI hits from Brett Paulsen, Alec Carlson, and Walon Delain. The sixth inning rally featured an RBI double by Brady Pribek and a run-scoring single from Diesel Bosdeck. Pribek pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just one hit while striking out eight.

 

In the win against the Clippers, the Storm scored in six of the seven innings, including four in the first inning and three in the fourth. The first inning rally was sparked by a grand slam slugged by Walon Delain while Alec Carlson cleared the bases in the fourth. The Clippers' bright spot came in the second inning when Bryce Plzak singled home a pair. The Storm outhit the Clippers 13-2, led by four hits from Brett Paulsen and two apiece from Connor Kilgore, Diesel Bosdeck, Delain,  and Carlson. Delain registered four RBI while Carlson added three RBI and Paulson chipped in two. Paulsen and Delain combined to allow two runs (0 ER) on three hits while striking out 11. Jack Higginbotham, Bryce Plzak, and Rylan Ruenger collected the hits for the Clippers.
