Storm softball edged by Bulldogs

The Kewaunee softball team's comeback came up just short on Tuesday, falling to Peshtigo 4-3.

Down 3-0 after 5.5 innings, the Storm started making headway in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to a two-out RBI single from Mariah Schlies, who later scored on a passed ball to make it 3-2. The one-run deficit was short lived as the Bulldogs extended the lead to two on a triple hit by Cami Finger, who later scored on the play due to a misthrow. Ali Repitz's two-out triple cleared the bases to make 4-3, but she was stranded on third. Repitz led the Storm with two hits and a RBI while Vivian Bootz, Baleigh Saxby, Schlies, and Kambreia Last registered one hit. The leading hitter was also the losing pitcher, giving up four runs (3 ER) on 11 hits while striking out one across seven innings.
