A 13-run outburst in the second inning set the stage for a three-inning, 16-1 victory over Gibraltar/Washington Island Friday night for the Kewaunee softball team.
After scoring one run in the first inning, the Storm sent 17 batters to the plate, collecting five hits and taking advantage of three walks and three errors. The Vikings scored their lone run in the bottom of the inning without the benefit of a hit when Emilie Glocke drove in Abby Jarosh on a flyout. The Storm added two more runs in the third inning.
Ali Repitz earned the win for the Storm, allowing one run (1 ER) on no hits and two strikeouts. Baleigh Saxby went 3-3 with an RBI while Breanna Riha, Vivian Bootz, Lexi Hanrahan, and Repitz all had multi-RBI games. For the Vikings, the Glocke sisters combined to allow 16 runs (8 ER) on 11 hits and four walks.
