Storm baseball hold off Pioneers rally for victory

A three-run rally was insufficient for Sevastopol to knock off Kewaunee on the baseball diamond Tuesday as the Storm won the game 7-5.

After trading runs in the third inning, the Storm scored two runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to climb to a 7-2 lead. The highlight of that stretch came in the fourth inning when Micah Vanness clubbed a two-run home run. The Pioneers engineered a late rally powered by back-to-back doubles from Logan Schuh and Tyler Grooters, but they would leave the bases loaded without scoring another run to drop the game to the Storm.

Brady Pribek and Vanness led the Storm with two RBIs on one hit, while Schuh's afternoon ended with him leading the Pioneers offensively with two hits and two RBIs. Both teams were plagued by mistakes in the field, combining to commit eight in the game.
