Storm softball suffers tough loss to Wrightstown

A day after beating NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy in a rare Wednesday game 4-1, the Kewaunee softball team was shut out by Wrightstown Thursday evening, 7-0.

 

The Storm were able to get at least two baserunners in the fifth and sixth, but could not secure the big hit to change the score. Bryn Amundson and Mallory Colwell caused problems for the Storm, combining for five hits and two RBI to lead the Tigers to the win. Ali Repitz took the loss for the Storm, allowing five runs (3 ER) on seven hits in one inning of work. Lexi Hanrahan accounted for two of the Storm's four hits.

 

On Wednesday, the Storm scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings while pounding out 10 hits to beat the Blazers. Summer Walechka, Breanna Riha, and Hanrahan each had two hits while Repitz, Hanrahan, London Karnopp, and Chloe Sperber drove in runs. Repitz earned the win from the circle, allowing five hits and one run (0 ER) in a complete game effort.
