Four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning helped the Kewaunee Storm softball team knock off Two Rivers Monday afternoon 10-9.
The Storm took a 2-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a Raiders error and a double by Ali Repitz. The Raiders would score seven of the game's next nine runs, which included two extra-base hits. An error on a Mariah Schlies cut the lead to one in the fifth before it stretched back out to 9-4 in the top of the sixth. A Breanna Riha double and a hard-hit ball by Baleigh Saxby made it 9-6 before the seventh inning's heroics. Lexi Hanrahan and Vivian Bootz delivered RBI singles to get the game within one run before Repitz came through again with a two-RBI single that ended the game on a happy note for Storm fans.
Repitz stuck with it from the circle, allowing nine runs (8 ER) on seven hits and seven walks across seven innings of work to get the win. She made up for it at the plate, ending her day 4-4 and three RBI. Bootz, Riha, Schlies, and Hanrahan posted multi-hit games for the Storm.
The Storm play again Tuesday evening when they play Oconto at home at 5 p.m.
