Storm suffers loss, deja vu vs. Blue Devils on 104.1 WRLU

For the second straight year, the Kewaunee Storm boys basketball team's season ended at the hands of the Oconto Blue Devils, this time by a score of 52-46 on Friday night.

The Storm started ice cold to start the game, opening the first half without a point for nearly seven minutes. Down 11-0, the Storm would begin chipping away at the deficit thanks to Dane Harrell hitting a three-pointer on his way to seven points in the first half. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils made the Storm pick their poison with three players scoring at least five points in the frame, including eight from Carter Koch. The Storm was able to whittle it down to a 24-18 deficit at the break.

Timely three-pointers from Diesel Bosdeck and Evan Maccaux kept the Blue Devils close for much of the second half. The Storm had narrowed the lead to three when Lars Saldana hit a corner three to double the advantage, and Cooper Campsure engineered a steal and trip to the foul line late to make it an eight-point lead. The game was cut down to a single possession several times in the closing minutes. Still, the Blue Devils could always answer the challenge before eventually punching their ticket to the regional final against Bonduel on Saturday night.

Cooper Campshure led the Blue Devils with 13 points, while Carter Koch dialed up 12 points of his own in the win. Harrell's 16 points represent the lone Storm player to reach double figures in the game, with Kolmorgen adding nine points, Bosdeck six points, and Kilgore five points.
