The Kewaunee Storm will battle the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers at Denmark High School Thursday night in a WIAA Divison 4 girls' basketball sectional semifinal.
The #2 seeded Storm (21-4) are coming off a thrilling 49-46 win over the Valders Vikings last Saturday to claim the regional championship. Jade Kroll led the Storm in scoring with 19 points, while Lexie Hanrahan added 11 more points.
The #1 seeded Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers (24-2) advanced to the sectional by coming back and beating the Brillion Lions 59-56. The Lancers were the champions of the Big East-North Conference and beat the Storm at home back in December 58-48. Melissa Mehlhorn scored 22 points, and Ginevra Ermis scored 19 more in that victory for Manitowoc Lutheran.
Thursday’s sectional semi-final game was originally scheduled for Kohler High School, but the WIAA changed the venue to Denmark High School earlier this week.
Pregame on 104.1 WRLU will start at 6:45 p.m., with tip-off at 7:00 p.m. Paul Schmitt and Eric Fischer will have the call, and the game will also be streamed online at NEW Radio Sports Network.
