Storm pull away from Pioneers on 104.1 WRLU

The #5 Kewaunee Storm cruised to a 78-50 home win over the #12 Sevastopol Pioneers Tuesday night in a WIAA Division 4 Boys Basketball regional first-round game.

The Storm led from start to finish, jumping out to a 5-0 lead and never looking back.  Sevastopol could not get any closer than nine points late in the first half as the Storm took a 33-17 lead into halftime.

Kewaunee frustrated the Pioneers' offense, forcing them into numerous turnovers all evening long. Using an inside-out offense, the Storm kept Sevastopol's defense off-balanced most of the night.

The Storm was led by Avery Jerabek, who scored 24 points, 14 of which came in the second half.

Dane Harrell, who had a huge game on the boards and defensively, added 15 points, while Cooper Kolmorgen chipped in 10 points off the bench for Kewaunee.

Damien Lardinois paced the Pioneers with 12 points and Logan Schuh tallied nine more.

Sevastopol finishes the season with an 8-15 record and will return most of the team next season with only two graduating seniors on this year's squad.

Kewaunee (17-8) now will play the #4 Oconto Blue Devils on the road Friday night in a regional semi-final.  Both teams split the season series, each winning on the road in the Packerland Conference earlier this year.

The pregame is set for 6:45 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU and will be streamed on NEW Radio Sports Network with Tim Kowols on the call. The tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from Oconto High School.
