The Kewaunee Storm turned up the heat and pulled away in the second half topping the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans 74-51 in non-conference boys’ basketball action Tuesday night.
The Storm jumped out to a comfortable 17-point lead in the first half before the Spartans closed out the half with a six-point run and cut the lead to 11 points at 39-28.
Dane Harrell scored ten of his game-high 18 points in the first half, including hitting eight free throws to lead the Storm. Connor Kilgore added 16 points for Kewaunee with 12 coming in the first stanza as well.
The Storm went on a 9-0 run in the second half on three three-pointers, two by Cooper Kolmorgen and another by Avery Jerabek, to extend the lead to 61-41 and put the game away.
Evan Maccaux also scored in double figures for the Storm, scoring all 12 of his points in the second half.
For the Spartans, Josh Parins led the way with 11 points, JD Glampe chipped in ten points off the bench, and Landon Derenne added eight.
Kewaunee (6-3, 4-0 in Packerland Conference) will travel to Sevastopol on Friday to play the Pioneers.
Luxemburg-Casco (2-8, 1-3 in the NEC) hosts the Wrightstown Tigers on Thursday night. The pregame is set for 6:45 p.m., with tip-off at 7:00 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on NEW Radio Sports Network. Paul Schmitt and Eric Fisher will have the call from Luxemburg-Casco High School.
