Storm softball snaps losing streak with sweep of Blazers

The Kewaunee softball team broke out of their slump on Saturday, beating NEW Lutheran 10-0 and 18-3.

In their 10-0 win, the Storm scored six runs in the second inning to set the stage for the 4 1/2 inning game. Jenna Rohr allowed a single hit while striking out nine across five innings of work. Breanna Riha and Cora Schlies each drove in two runs on one hit. Baleigh Saxby went 3-3 with a RBI while Vivian Bootz recorded two hits.

Their 18-3 win featured a 12-run third inning that all but ended the game after four innings. Rohr dominated in both phases, recording the win from the circle and going 4-4 with a triple and four RBI. Lexi Hanrahan cleared the bases with a double in the third inning and Summer Walechka knocked two runs. All told, eight Storm players drove in at least one run.
