Storm girls keep pace in the Packerland with win over Clippers

The Kewaunee Storm girls' basketball team remains tied atop the Packerland Conference after beating Sturgeon Bay Monday night 56-14.

The Storm did not allow the Clippers any room for error on the night as their visitors could not crack double digits in scoring in either half. Meanwhile, Jade Kroll had her way for the Storm as she scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the first half, Brianna Demmin was just as potent for the Storm in the second half en route to an 18-point evening. Dasha Yeltysheva led the Clippers with six points while Grace Felhofer, Regan Kasten, Cora Frangipone, and Cady Carlson made one shot from the field to score two points.

The Storm will play for at least a share of the Packerland Conference when they play Algoma on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Clippers will conclude their conference slate at home against NEW Lutheran at 6:30 p.m.

The Storm will first play Oconto Falls on Tuesday on the road at 7 p.m. The Panthers needed overtime to beat Denmark 43-40 in their last game for their second win in their last six tries.
