Kewaunee's Stangel crosses 1,000 points in win vs. Peshtigo

Kewaunee's Thomas Stangel joined the parade of Packerland Conference players reaching scoring milestones over the past week in the Storm's 68-55 win over Peshtigo Thursday night.

The Storm built a big halftime lead to coast after the break. Thomas Stangel did his part to ensure that, scoring 18 of his game-high 33 points in the first half. He hit three shots from beyond the arc. Still, it was a greasy two-point bucket off of a rebound that was memorable as he crossed 1,000 points, joining Sevastopol's Naomi Rikkola (1,000 points), Oconto's Carter Koch (1,000 points), and Southern Door's Drew Daoust (2,000 points) with milestone baskets over the past week.

Stangel was not the only player to be an offensive pest for the Bulldogs, with recent Minnesota State football signee Braxton Riha scoring 23 points and Connor Kilgore chipping in 10 points.

Dominik Baxter had his second big game of the week for the Bulldogs with 25 points. Will McMahon added 10 points and Carter Roeder contributed eight points in the loss for Peshtigo.
