Kewaunee wrestlers grapple with Wrightstown ahead of tournament

The Kewaunee Storm wrestling team heads to Wrightstown Friday night to face Tri-County and the host Tigers before a more extended day on Saturday.

After having a quadrangular meet and tournament in the same week, it has been nearly two weeks since the Storm has hit the mat. At the Papermaker Invitational on December 2nd, Aiden Ducat was the top finisher for the Storm, winning his first three matches at  113 pounds before falling in the semifinals. Mitchell Boeder had a similar day with a pair of pins at 215 pounds before he got hurt in his semifinal match, forcing him to forfeit a chance at taking third. After losing to Freedom last week, Wrightstown had a strong showing at the Battle on the Bay Tournament in Suamico before dominating Little Chute, Clintonville, and Fox Valley Lutheran in an NEC Quadrangular on Thursday. Tri-County lost to Green Lake/Princeton in its last action.

The duals begin at 5 p.m. with the first matches.

The Storm will have no time for rest as they head to Oostburg on Saturday for an invitational featuring Clinton, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Green Lake/Princeton, Hustisford, Lake Country Lutheran, Martin Luther, Milwaukee Bradley Technical, Milwaukee School Of Languages, New Holstein, North Fond du Lac, Oostburg, St. John's Northwestern Academies, Sussex Hamilton and Xavier. The first matches are set to begin at 8 a.m.
